The prices above are live. They are calculated from the actual driving distance of each route, so what you see is what you pay — no surge pricing, no airport surcharge added at the end, no difference because you booked at 5am instead of noon.

Downtown hotels sit close to the terminal. The Manchester Grand Hyatt is 2.2 miles from SAN, about 8 minutes. The US Grant is 2.3 miles. Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina is 2.6 miles. Coastal resorts run longer: Del Mar and La Jolla are 12 to 22 miles, Carlsbad and Encinitas around 28 to 33 miles, and we also run the long hauls to LAX, LEGOLAND and Disneyland.

How Early Should Your Pickup Be?

The most common question we get, and the one worth getting right.

SAN is a compact two-terminal airport, but it is busy, and the rental car return and curbside drop-off lanes back up badly in the morning peak. As a rule:

• Domestic flight: arrive at the terminal 2 hours before departure
• International flight: arrive 3 hours before departure
• Then add your drive time, plus a buffer for traffic

So for a 9:00am domestic departure from a downtown hotel 10 minutes away, book your pickup for about 6:45am. From Carlsbad, closer to 6:00am — the I-5 southbound is slow from 6:30am on weekdays.

If you are flying out on a Monday morning or a Sunday afternoon, add fifteen minutes. Those are the two busiest windows at SAN.

Pickup at Your Hotel

Your chauffeur arrives at the hotel entrance and handles the bags. At the larger downtown properties, that means the main porte-cochère; at the coastal resorts, wherever the valet stand is. If your hotel has an unusual pickup arrangement, tell us when you book and we will work with the bell desk.

At the airport, we drop you at the departure door for your specific airline, not at a general curb. Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 — tell us your airline and the chauffeur takes you to the right one.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a car from my hotel to San Diego Airport? The table above lists the exact fare for each hotel and each vehicle. Downtown properties start at our $60 minimum; coastal resorts run higher based on distance.

Can you pick up very early in the morning? Yes. We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, holidays included. Early departures are a large part of what we do.

Do you charge more for an early morning or late night pickup? The fare shown is the fare. Confirm your exact price on the booking page before you pay.

How many people and bags fit? Up to 6 passengers and 5 large suitcases in any of our three SUVs. Travelling with more, or with oversized items like surfboards or golf bags? Call us and we will send the right vehicle.

Can I book a round trip? Yes. Book your arrival and departure transfers together, or call and we will arrange both.

Do you serve hotels outside the city? Yes — Carlsbad, Encinitas, Del Mar, La Jolla, Coronado, Rancho Santa Fe and across San Diego County. If your hotel is not in the table, call and we will quote it.
