Trip Limo Service provides private Petco Park car service from any address in San Diego County. One vehicle, one chauffeur, dropped at the gate and collected at the same spot when the game ends. Your price is calculated from your own pickup address, shown before you book, and does not rise because it is a Friday night or the Dodgers are in town.
Get your price to Petco Park
The fare depends on where you are starting from—a pickup in Little Italy is a short run, one from Carlsbad is not, and you should not pay the same for both. Enter your pickup address below and you will see the exact price for each vehicle straight away. The destination is already set to Petco Park.
Select Your Vehicle
The price you see is the price you pay. It covers the vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel, tolls and gratuity, and it does not move with demand. Prefer to arrange it by phone? Call (858) 413-8888, or use our full booking page if your trip has more than one stop.
Why take a car to the ballpark?
Petco Park seats just under 40,000 people in the middle of the East Village, a neighborhood that was not built to absorb that many cars twice a week. Three things follow from it.
Parking is the first tax on the evening. Event rates in the lots around the ballpark are set for the occasion; the closest ones sell out in advance, and the one you do find will empty at walking pace afterwards because everyone is leaving at the same minute.
Rideshare is cheapest at exactly the wrong time. Getting to a 6:40pm first pitch is easy. Getting out at 10pm with forty thousand people opening the same app is where the price goes, and it goes furthest on the nights you most want to leave—a Saturday, a playoff game, a sell-out.
Most people have a drink at a baseball game. That is rather the point of a summer evening at Petco. Booking a chauffeur means nobody at your table has to spend the night on soda water, and nobody has to make a judgement call in the car park afterwards.
Where we drop you off
We set down on the street at the gate you are using rather than at a lot several blocks away. Petco Park has entrances on all four sides, and which one suits you depends on where your seats are: the Home Plate Gate on Tony Gwynn Drive, the East Village Gate on Park Boulevard, the Gallagher Square Gate on the outfield side, and the Park Boulevard Gate for the upper levels.
Tell us your gate or your section when you book and your chauffeur will take you to the right side of the building. If you do not know, say so — we will use Tony Gwynn Drive, which works for most seats.
On the busiest nights the police close some streets around the ballpark and reroute others. Your chauffeur will take whichever approach is open on the night rather than the one the map suggests, which is the main practical difference between a driver who works this venue and one following an app.
Getting home after the game—and the thing nobody plans for
This is the half of the trip worth thinking about hardest, because baseball has no clock.
A nine-inning game usually runs around two and a half to three hours, but it can run four with extra innings, and there is no way to know in advance which night that will be. A return pickup booked for a fixed time is therefore a guess, and on the night it goes long it is a guess that leaves you standing on Park Boulevard.
We handle it the other way round. You message your chauffeur when the game reaches the late innings, and the car is at the kerb by the time you have walked out. No fixed time to hit, no penalty for extra innings, and nothing to rebook if the game is called early for weather.
The same applies afterwards. The streets around Petco take a good half hour to clear once a full house leaves, so if your evening continues into the Gaslamp—which is a few minutes’ walk away—your chauffeur can collect you later from the restaurant instead, and you will likely get home sooner for having waited. For an evening with several stops, booking the car by the hour is usually simpler than booking each leg.
Concerts and other events
Petco Park is not only a ballpark. It hosts major concerts on the field, and Gallagher Square beyond the outfield runs its own events through the year, from markets to shows on the Sycuan Stage.
Concerts are easier to plan than baseball in one respect—they finish at a predictable hour—and harder in another, because a concert crowd all leaves within the same ten minutes rather than drifting out over an inning or two. For a concert we usually suggest arranging a pickup point a couple of blocks from the venue, which costs you a short walk and saves a long wait.
Where we pick up
We collect from any address in San Diego County—homes, hotels, offices, and San Diego International Airport. The most frequent starting points for Petco Park are:
- Downtown San Diego, the Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy
- Coronado
- Point Loma and Shelter Island
- Mission Valley and Hotel Circle
- La Jolla and Torrey Pines
- Del Mar, Solana Beach and Encinitas
- Carlsbad and Oceanside
- Chula Vista and the South Bay
- Escondido and Rancho Bernardo
- San Diego International Airport (SAN)
Staying downtown for the series? We run airport transfers to the hotels within walking distance of the ballpark, including the US Grant and the Manchester Grand Hyatt. Flying in from further afield, or connecting through Los Angeles? See our San Diego to LAX car service.
What is included
- A locked-in price — calculated from your pickup address, shown before you book and unchanged afterwards. No surge pricing on a sell-out; tolls, fuel and gratuity included.
- A professional chauffeur — licensed, insured, and familiar with how the streets around the ballpark behave on an event night.
- Gate drop-off — set down at your entrance, not at a lot several blocks away.
- Flexible return — message your chauffeur in the late innings and the car meets you. Extra innings cost nothing extra.
- One vehicle, one driver — no shared ride, no other stops, no waiting for strangers.
- Bottled water, WiFi and charging ports in every vehicle.
The vehicles
The fleet is full-size luxury SUVs, which suits a group going to a game: six people travel together for one fare rather than splitting across two cars.
- Cadillac Escalade — the benchmark luxury SUV. Premium leather, powerful air conditioning, the most refined ride of the three.
- Chevrolet Suburban — the largest capacity in the fleet, and the easiest to get six adults in and out of on a crowded kerb.
- GMC Yukon XL — understated and quiet, popular with business groups and couples.
All three seat up to six passengers. Travelling as a larger party — a corporate box, a birthday, a bachelor party? Tell us when you book and we will send a second vehicle rather than squeeze you in.
How the fare compares
Parking plus two rideshares at post-game pricing is often more than one chauffeured SUV, and that comparison ignores the part that actually costs you: the walk to the lot, the crawl out of it, and the queue for a car that is pricing itself by the minute.
For two people the maths is close. For four or six it is not — the fare is per vehicle, so the cost per head falls as the group grows, and a group is how most people go to a baseball game.
Frequently asked questions
Can you drop me right at the gate?
Yes. We set down on the street at your entrance. Tell us your gate or your section when you book and your chauffeur will use the right side of the ballpark.
What happens if the game goes to extra innings?
Nothing, as far as your booking is concerned. You message your chauffeur when the game is nearing its end rather than booking a fixed return time, so a long game costs you nothing and changes nothing.
Can I book the return at the same time?
Yes, and we recommend it. The ride home is the leg where app pricing peaks and availability drops, and a car already assigned to you is worth considerably more than one you are hoping to summon at eleven at night.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. Up to six passengers travel for the same total, so the cost per head falls as the group grows.
Do you pick up outside the city of San Diego?
Yes — anywhere in the county, including Carlsbad, Oceanside, La Jolla, Del Mar, Coronado, Escondido and Chula Vista. The fare is calculated from your actual address.
Can we go to dinner before the game?
Yes. Tell us when you book and we will build the stop into the trip. The Gaslamp is minutes from the ballpark, so dinner first and a short hop to the gate is a common arrangement.
Do you serve concerts at Petco Park as well as Padres games?
Yes, and any other event at the ballpark. Concerts end at a more predictable hour than baseball, but the crowd leaves all at once, so we usually suggest a pickup point a couple of blocks out.
Is there a trolley to Petco Park?
There is, and on an ordinary weeknight it is a perfectly good way to get there. A car makes sense when you are in a group, when you are coming from outside the city, when you are carrying anything, or when you would rather not stand on a packed platform at eleven at night. The MTS site has current times and fares.
What time do the gates open?
Gate times vary by event and the Padres publish them per game, so check the ballpark’s A-to-Z guide before you set your pickup. We will work backwards from whatever time you want to be inside.
Can you take us somewhere else afterwards?
Yes. Dinner, a bar, a hotel, home, or all of them — tell us the plan when you book and we will price it as one evening rather than as separate trips.
