The Andaz sits at 600 F Street, in the middle of the Gaslamp Quarter. The building dates to 1913, was put up in the run-up to the Panama-California Exposition, and it has carried several names since—the Andaz kept the shell and the street-level presence while turning the roof into a pool deck that looks out over the Gaslamp. Petco Park and the Convention Center are both a short walk away, which is why the hotel fills up around Padres’ homestands and Comic-Con. It runs under Hyatt’s Andaz brand.The drive from San Diego International is about three miles down Harbor Drive and takes ten minutes or so in normal traffic.
