About The Guild Hotel
The Guild Hotel occupies the 1924 Armed Services YMCA building at 500 West Broadway, a few blocks from the waterfront at the top end of downtown. For nearly fifty years the building housed and entertained military personnel passing through San Diego — its ballroom hosted boxing matches and Marine Balls — and the 2019 restoration kept what made it worth keeping: high ceilings, original tilework, archways and exposed brick, now paired with a Riviera-style courtyard, the Grace Garden, and local artwork throughout the rooms. It runs today as a Tribute Portfolio hotel under Marriott.The drive from San Diego International is one of the shortest in the county — roughly three miles up Harbor Drive, usually under ten minutes.
