About Bahia Resort
The Bahia sits on a fourteen-acre peninsula in Mission Bay at 998 West Mission Bay Drive, with water on three sides and the Mission Beach boardwalk about a ten-minute walk away across the strand. It is one of the Evans Hotels properties and has been in the family for decades—the signature restaurant, Dockside 1953, is named for the year—alongside Bianchi Pizza & Pasta, the Airstream grab-and-go, and the Beach Club pool bar. Its 314 rooms spread low across the grounds rather than stacking into a tower, and the Bahia Belle sternwheeler still runs cruises from the dock. Sailing, kayaking, and small motor boats go out from the resort’s own waterfront.From San Diego International the drive is about six miles up I-5 and west on Sea World Drive, roughly 15 minutes outside peak hours. Mission Bay Drive backs up in summer and on any weekend with an event at the bay, and the resort’s entrance road loops through the property, so knowing which building you are in saves a walk with luggage at the end of a long flight.
